NCSF partners with CYBER.ORG to expand cybersecurity excellence in CyberStart America

The National Cyber Scholarship Foundation has partnered with CYBER.ORG to empower K-12 educators and students with increased access to cyber resources.

The National Cyber Scholarship Foundation (NCSF) has partnered with CYBER.ORG to expand the accessibility of the NCSF’s gamified cybersecurity learning program, CyberStart America (CSA).

The NCSF/CYBER.ORG partnership means students can now develop their cybersecurity skills in a safe, virtual environment provided by the CYBER.ORG Range. This accessible virtual machine (VM) is a more accessible option for people who previously may not have been able to access all of CyberStart’s challenges due to technical limitations at home or in school.

The cloud-based environment provided by the Range can run VMs with access to the internet but is closed off from any private networks. By launching the Range VM in a web browser, students don’t need any additional hardware or software to practice hands-on cybersecurity techniques in CyberStart America!

“Collaboration is instrumental to solving the cybersecurity skills shortage and we’re proud to partner with CYBER.ORG to be part of the solution. In 2022, we had over 40,000 students nationwide participate in CSA. By offering the CYBER.ORG Range in conjunction with CyberStart, educators have more of the resources they need to ensure that all students – regardless of socioeconomic background or previous cybersecurity experience – can develop the skills and confidence to pursue cyber careers in greater numbers.”

Jennifer Esposito, Head of Operations at the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation.
