On behalf of everyone at the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation, we are excited to update you on our plans for the 25x25 initiative this year.

Brand new game platform

We’re thrilled to announce that the engine behind the CyberStart platform, which powers the CyberStart America and Cyber FastTrack training programs, has been rebuilt and significantly improved over the past year. The new game platform will allow for simple registration and continuation of progress across multiple years; a new groups functionality to enable classes, clubs and other groups to more easily work together; and an enhanced user interface and gaming experience. You can read more about the updates on the CyberStart blog.

Registration timing

The CyberStart game will once again be offered to both high school students (and their teachers/advisors) and college students in 2021-22 through CyberStart America and Cyber FastTrack.

Registration for CyberStart America and Cyber FastTrack will be open from October 27, 2021 - April 27, 2022.

You can register to receive updates on the high school program, or the college program.

Scholarships and advanced training

At the end of the last school year, the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation hosted a competition – a 48-hour capture the flag challenge, awarding $4 million in scholarships and advanced training.

This year, the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation has made the decision to reconsider how scholarships will be distributed. To ensure the Foundation reaches and rewards a diverse group of students, the National Cyber Scholarship Competition will not be taking place in 2022. Instead, multiple scholarship opportunities will be available to students this year. We are currently completing the process of awarding last year’s scholarships and will share updates about next year’s pathways shortly.
